A good musical instrument should be played, not sitting in its case in the closet. Before you is a Fender Custom Classic Jazz Bass in the color Cobalt Blue. The date on the Certificate of Authenticity sez 10/03/07 with the serial # CZ503993. This bass was purchased from Arnold and Morgan Music in Garland, Tx. Because of some bad experiences prior to this purchase (a few neck warpage incidents on basses costing thousands $$$$ even though they were lovingly cared for and pampered) immediately had my basses, starting with this one outfitted with Moses Carbon Graphite Necks (P-Bass type "1.60"@ nut) with "Mother of Pearl" inlays. Moses Carbon Graphite has never in its 30plus years had or heard from anyone needing a fingerboard re-dressing because the necks & fingerboard are both carbon graphite (unlike Modulus which uses a phenolic "paper" resin for its fingerboard) Compared to wood, the tonal improvements are increased harmonic content, evenness, and sustain, plus stability (they don't warp and are impervious to climate changes) meaning you almost never have to re tweak the truss rod after intial setup. Before you ask, as I was leaving the music store with this beautiful bass was approached by the owner who purchased the Custom Shop wood neck for $300.00 Since the Moses neck cost over $400.00 and his luthier charged close to $200.00 to change it out, thought it was a good deal at the time (Live and Learn!) This bass has never been gigged, only used in my smoke free home/studio. Initially the bass was used quite a bit but over the last year and half almost none at all as I've played mostly 5string and acoustic. No dings on this beauty, does have some light surface scratches of the gloss finish in places, but you have to put it under the lights to see them. Treat all my instruments with loving care. Rest assured everything will be working flawlessly. The action is set low, the neck straight, fast. Will come with the very nice original case but don't have most of the candy other than the certificate. This is the genuine article, somebody going to be very happy. The bass will be shipped insured via USPS on Saturday with a healthy amount of of bubblewrap around the instrument for safekeeping, and foam inside the box. Will only ship within the continential US. Good luck to all, thanks for the interest...
