This amplifier had one owner for twenty-five years before I
bought it on eBay. A few years ago, the previous owner had the original set of
alnico speakers re-coned and gave it a thorough going over before posting it on
eBay, but finances have recently taken a downward turn and I cannot keep it. I
even bought a cover for it after it arrived with no intentions of selling and
really hate to part with this wonderful piece of Fender history, especially
given its condition, which is outstanding for its age. A few months ago, again, with the assumption I'd be keeping this baby, I replaced the tubes with a set of Svetlana EL34 tubes, so even the tubes have a great deal of life left! Finally, for those who suffer from back problems, this heavy sucker's got wheels, a real bonus!

If you are familiar with ways of dating these amps, you can
see from the pictures of the chassis, transformer, and tube chart, that this
one was made in February of 1967, even though the serial number on the
right rear of the chassis was covered by a St. Louis music store's logo stamped
on it decades ago. From the ink-stamped date on the inside of the chassis and
on the bottom of the power transformer, this amp was built in the 7th week of
1967. The tube chart is actually marked "QB" (February 1967, which is
consistent with the other visible EIA codes on the trannies). It is a blackface
through and through and was made before Fender began manufacturing their
silverface models.

Everything works perfectly, the tremolo, the reverb,
everything! You can see that the grill is worn with a few minor tears, but this
amp's overall integrity is excellent and is ready to play! It's in
better-than-average shape for a 44 year-old amp -- the panels look good, the knobs
are all original, the cloth and Tolex are fair, and the amp retains its quartet
of alnico CTS speakers. I really hate to let this go, and it will be difficult
to find another that plays and sounds as good or is in as good of condition as
this one. I promise whomever wins this auction will not be disappointed.

This sucker's heavy. The winning bidder must pay for the actual UPS shipping
costs and insurance to his/her location from mine, which is in Jonesboro,
Arkansas, 72401 (Northeast Arkansas, not too far from Memphis). Of course,
local pick-up would be fine, or I could meet you up to an hour's drive from
here, such as Memphis. I will not charge anymore than the actual costs of
shipping and insurance and will carefully box this on my dime, but, as I said,
the buyer pays actual shipping and insurance.

Important Note: This amp is also on consignment at my local music store, so it may well sell before auction's end. I also am reserving this auction to those within the U.S. who have eBay accounts who live and whose shipping address is in the lower U.S. 48 unless there is come compelling reason to sell outside the States. Payment is due immediately upon auction's end, but please contact me before payment to determine total shipping and insurance. Winning bidder must notify me for total shipping and insurance costs and then pay via PayPal upon auction's unless otherwise prearranged. Do NOT use the shipping costs eBay provides, which is often wrong. If shipping and insurance is more than the buyer's payment, I'll refund the difference via PayPal. To repeat: Buyer pays actual shipping and insurance only, but must have a U.S. eBay and PayPal accounts, which are required. Actual shipping charges are those assessed by UPS, FedEx, or whatever vendor I will be using (upon buyer's consent).

Finally, any eBayer with a "0" or negative feedback rating must notify me in advance before bidding and request permission to participate in this auction before bidding. Failure to do so will result in a deletion of all your bids and a ban from this auction.
